1975 Peter Gabriel Genesis Lineup Reunited

For years fans have been screaming for a reunion of the Peter Gabriel Genesis lineup.  There is a reunion in store however its not exactly the one that fans want.

Genesis

Genesis reunite for a BBC documentary.

Genesis Reunion?

When you think of the band Genesis most likely you are thinking of their classic songs.  Although the band has undergone a few lineup changes over the years the 1975 version of Genesis is the one that really rocked.  The lineup from this time included Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks and Steve Hackett.  The songs pushed the limits and the performances were legendary.

For the first time in decades this legendary lineup is back together.  But don’t get yourself too excited.  There is not an album or tour in the works yet.  The group got together for the filming of the documentary Genesis: Together and Apart which is from the BBC.  As of today there isn’t an official air date listed for the documentary but we’ll be sure to keep you posted as more firm details become available.  We do know that its scheduled to air on BBC Two later this year.

The BBC stated via press release:

“…the film will explore the group’s songwriting as well as their emotional highs and lows and will include previously unseen archive material and rare concert footage from over the 47 year career.”

47 years is quite a long career and you can bet that it will be an interesting documentary with the large personalities of Gabriel and Collins.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and receive a new Genesis album or at the least a tour.
