The Boise Philharmonic explores the rich musical culture of Spain and the Basque Country in “Iberia!” with guest conductor Jose Luis Egiluz and classical guitarist Jason Vieaux, who will play the Concierto de Aranjuez by 20th century composer Joaquin Rodrigo.
“It’s an achingly beautiful piece,” Vieaux said.
The concerto contains one of the most beautiful classical melodies that also has been covered by Miles Davis. It is very challenging to play.
“I never get tired of it. There is always more to find and new challenges to unlock every time,” he said.
Vieaux is one of the leading classical guitarists working today. He will sign copies of his “Bach Vol. 1 Works for Lute” after the concert.
