Clapton selling off his #1 Beano
We reported last December about Gibson’s signature Clapton Beano Les Paul reissue. Well, apparently Eric liked it so much it is already up for sale. His #1 signature Gibson will go under the hammer at Bonham’s auctioneers on March 9th, along with around 70 other guitars, 70 amps and miscellaneous memorabilia. All proceeds go to the The Crossroads Centre in Antigua, the drug and alcohol dependency rehabilitation center that Clapton founded.
At launch, the list price for the hand-aged and signed Les Paul was $29,412. In the auction catalog it is estimated at $20-30,000, so you could grab yourself a bargain. If your pockets aren’t quite that deep, there are some of the amps that are estimated to go for as little as $300.
I would urge you to head over to Bonham’s site for the auction and have a browse through. There is some fascinating stuff up for sale.
