Bon Jovi Guitarist Richie Sambora Fired

If you were to take all of the classic rock stars in the world and rank them in order of how clean-cut they were, the members of Bon Jovi would likely be situated pretty deep in the positive role model side. However, every good thing must come to an end, and Bon Jovi was no exception. Rumors, which have since been confirmed as true, have long circulated that the Bon Jovi guitarist, Richie Sambora, was not satisfied with his financial situation. This thorn would slowly drive apart Bon Jovi, leading to several publicized fights and eventually Sambora being fired.

Richie Sambora

Richie Sambora is reportedly out of Bon Jovi.

Because both Sambora and the rest of Bon Jovi have remained quiet about the whole affair, some details are known. For instance, Sambora was receiving somewhere in the neighborhood of $2,000,000 a month. Apparently, this was not sufficient and was the main source of the conflict between the band. Phil X has been announced at the replacement guitarist for the remainder of Bon Jovi’s tour, though he will only be receiving $10,000 a month.

It seems hard to imagine a Bon Jovi without Sambora, but hopefully the group will continue to rock just as hard as always. The firing prevents Sambora from playing shows with the band until at least 2014. Whether or not Sambora will return then is still up for debate.
