The Super Bowl is pretty big deal here in America. Every year around the beginning of February, enough teams have been whittled out of the NFL playoffs to reach the championship game. This game always takes place on a Sunday, and in many ways, Super Bowl Sunday has become an unofficial holiday in millions of households across the nation.

Bruno Mars

A big part of the Super Bowl is the half time show, which is often just as elaborate and spectacular as the game itself. In the past, we’ve seen acts ranging from the Black Eyed Peas to Beyonce to the infamous Janet Jackson mishap. This year, soulful sweetheart Bruno Mars will take up the gauntlet.

The news has been confirmed through the official NFL twitter, though for several weeks rumors that Mars would be chosen have circulated. The performance will take place on February 2nd in the MetLife Stadium, the enormous 80,000 seat home of both the Jets and the Giants. Interestingly, the MetLife Stadium is both the most expensive stadium of all time and the largest in the NFL. Hopefully, Mars will be able to fill this stadium with his excellent performance.
