Dave Matthews Band’s “Away From the World” Tops The Charts
In case you didn’t know it the Dave Matthews Band has a new album out. But based on the latest Billboard 200 numbers you probably already know about the band’s latest offering called Away From The World. Dave and company have a pretty good thing going when it comes to releasing their new studio albums. This is the sixth (yeah…sixth) straight DMB studio album that has hit the charts at Number 1.
Its really no surprise. When they aren’t on the road for ridiculously long tours, The Dave Matthews Band has been churning out impressive studio albums for years. Away From The World sold 266,000 copies at the time of reporting. These opening sales figures are down from previous releases from the band but landing on the top of the Billboard 200 should help that sting a little less. Another item to make note of is that the band reunited with their original legendary producer Steve Lillywhite.
The rigorous touring schedule that the band endures (and when I say endures I mean they must really love the shit out of touring) certainly seems to pay dividends in the studio. The chemistry between band members is unrivaled and the music moves and transitions in and out of different soundscapes effortlessly. The Dave Matthews Band is one tight musical outfit that makes different musical styles look and sound so easy.
Reviews for Away From The World are strong. If you happen to be one of the six people who have never heard of The Dave Matthews Band you should probably try and catch them on the road and also pick up a copy of Away From The World. You won’t be disappointed.
