Electro-Harmonix Releases Nano Big Muff

The original Big Muff Pi distortion pedal, which first hit shelves back in 1969, proved to be one of the most legendary fuzz pedals to ever be produced. It was largely responsible for the iconic tones of Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Jack White, and the Smashing Pumpkins. However, one of the biggest criticisms of the Big Muff is its size. In a world where pedal board real estate can be quite thin, having the clunky Big Muff in your way may not be worth the classic tones. In response to this concern, Electro-Harmonix has finally released a new version of the pedal, the Nano Big Muff Pi.

The pedal has the same functionality and circuitry of a regular Big Muff, which means players can rock that same fantastic tone. However, the unit is roughly the size of a MXR Phase 90. In our opinion, this seems like a great compromise, though no doubt some pedal purists will insist on the superiority of the original. The pedal is currently going for $93.00, but the price will surely drop as this neat little piece of hardware becomes more available.
