Epiphone Valve Senior

Posted 08 Jul 2008 in Amplifiers, News

After the very popular Valve Junior range, Epiphone are releasing a bigger and better version, called the Valve Senior. Details on the Valve Senior are a bit scarce at the moment, as we await its release, but we do know it will sport:

  • 18 watts of Class A/B power.
  • 2 x 6V6GT power tubes, 4 x 12AX7A preamp tubes
  • Gain, Volume, Treble, Mid, Bass, Presence, and Reverb controls
  • Standby switch
  • 4, 8, and 16-ohm speaker outs

These will be shipping in head and combo versions.

Epiphone amps are known for their ‘bang-for-buck,’ offering valve amp tone at very reasonable prices. The Valve Junior model is very well known on the modding scene, as these cheap amps can be transformed into tonal monsters, after some modifications. It will be very interesting to see what tones can be coaxed out of this ‘new kid on the block’ by the tweakers. The price of these amps should be very attractive too, given the pricing of current Epiphone amps on the market.

Stay tuned for the official release of this amp!
