If you are like me then it must make you feel old when it hits you that Eric Clapton will be turning 70 years old.  Clapton will be hitting this milestone on March 30th.  But don’t think for one second that he’s checking himself into a retirement home so he can quietly live the rest of his life. The celebration for the guitar guru’s birthday will probably look a lot different than any other 70th birthday party.  There won’t be soft music playing quietly in the background and there probably won’t be cake….well, maybe there will be cake.

Eric Clapton will celebrate his 70th birthday with 4 nights at Royal Albert Hall

Clapton will begin a four night stand at the legendary Royal Albert Hall.  Coming about 2 months after turning 70 he returns to a venue he first played at over 50 years ago as a member of The Yardbirds.

Of course everyone who attends will be there to see the brilliance of Clapton live and right in front of their eyes, but, the rest of his band is packed full of top notch musicians.  So if there were any doubts (why would there be) about the quality of the performance this list of musicians should put those concerns to bed.  Accompanying Clapton will be Paul Carrack, Steve Gadd, Nathan East, Chris Stanton, Sharon White and Michelle John.

If you plan to be in the vicinity of Royal Albert Hall on May 14, 15, 17 and 18 you should absolutely try to attend.
