For a band that for all intents and purposes disappeared years ago Guns N’ Roses, specifically Axl Rose, have done an incredible job staying in the press.
Guns N’ Roses Reunion?
Since Slash, Duff and the rest of the original lineup left the band Guns N’ Roses has been nowhere close to the freight train that took over the rock scene a few decades ago. That may be about to change. Well maybe not anytime soon but there are rumors based on a statement that Axl’s former manager made that there could be a Guns reunion with original members Slash and Duff McKagen back in their places on the stage. According to the statement McKagan has been an integral part of the process of reuniting Slash and Rose. McKagan has recently played some shows with GnR and of course is still tight with Slash. Rose’s former manager said:
Duff is paving the way to open the gates again,” Duswalt told ABC News Radio, alluding to bassist Duff McKagan’s recent gigs with the band. “We all have a feeling … [a reunion] is gonna happen in the next two years.
We’ll have to wait and see about that as Axl is notorious for long delays when it comes to his music.
GnR in 3D?
In more GnR news if you haven’t caught the current version of Guns N’ Roses in concert recently as they play shows at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas don’t worry. The band is set to release the 3D film called ‘Appetite for Democracy 3D: Live at the Hard Rock Casino – Las Vegas. That’s right fans. You can sit in a nice cool movie theater and watch the current lineup rip through some classic Guns songs like, ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ ‘Paradise City, ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine,’ ‘Patience,’ ‘Don’t Cry,’ ‘November Rain’ as well as other GnR classics. This will be released online and in stores but if you just can’t wait to see the band you can make your way to one of the 100 theaters that will be showing the film on June 14.
But wait…there’s more Guns N’ Roses News as Axl says he has 2 new albums ready to go. After only a mere 6 years Axl says he has the 2nd half of Chinese Democracy ready to release. That’s world record speed considering it took 15 years to get Chinese Democracy into the hands of fans. Talking to Revolver Rose made the following statement.
We recorded a lot of things before Chinese was out. We’ve worked more on some of those things and we’ve written a few new things. But basically, we have what I call kind of the second half of Chinese. That’s already recorded.
To make things even sweeter for fans Rose says that he also has an album of Chinese Democracy remixes ready to release. Maybe the remixed songs will outdo the poor sales that the original album had.
Stay tuned because there will probably be several updates to this story if past experience is any indicator of future behavior from the band.
