Metallica News: James Hetfield and Dave Mustaine Bury The Hatchet?

The decades old animosity between Metallica and former guitarist Dave Mustaine is no secret to any fan of either Metallica or Megadeth.  However, it looks like things have started to change.In the small event that you didn’t know that Dave Mustaine used to be in Metallica…he was.  Things didn’t end well when Metallica decided that Mustaine was violent, took too many drugs and drank too much and decided to kick him out of the band.  Let that sink in for a second…he drank TOO MUCH for Metallica!  That is something for sure.  Even if the band has gotten older and changed a lot of their hard partying ways its still crazy to think that someone drank and partied too much to fit in with them.  But this article isn’t about drinking and drugs.  Its about Metallica and Dave Mustaine beginning to mend some fences.

Here’s how things went down.  James Hetfield turned 51 on August 3rd.  Yeah…read that again too.  James Hetfield is 51 years old!  Holy shit that’s crazy.  Anyway, to celebrate his birthday his old friend Dave Mustaine sent a tweet his way wishing the Metallica front-man a happy birthday. It wasn’t just a generic happy birthday tweet either.  Mustaine actually sounded sincere in his well wishes for his old ‘friend’.  You can read the tweet below but try not to get too teary eyed with all of the love.
