Joe Cocker is probably best known for his incredible cover of the classic Beatles song ‘With A Little Help From My Friends.’  Cocker was well known for his stage presence and different from average voice.  He started becoming popular in the 1960’s and that popularity really took off when he released his version of  ‘With A Little Help From My Friends.’   His version of the tune eventually reached the top spot on the UK charts in 1968.

Fans of the popular 80’s TV show ‘The Wonder Years’ will remember Cocker’s version of the song as the theme song from the hit show.  1983 saw Cocker take the stage to claim his Grammy for the song ‘Up Where We Belong’ which was a duet with Jennifer Warnes.  I can personally remember that song being on the radio almost every time I turned it on.

Joe Cocker released 22 solo albums and the last one came out in 2012 and was called ‘Fire It Up.’  He had a long list of artists that he worked with.  Notable collaborations took place with stars like Bo Didley, James Brown, BB King, Carlos Santana and lots of others.

It’s certainly a sad day and we will miss Joe Cocker.
