Man imprisoned for hitting stepmother with guitar

An unemployed man who hit his stepmother with a guitar and a stick has been sentenced to four years’ jail by a court in Malasia.

Yulazim Sandi, 26, who pleaded guilty to the offence, told the court that he did not know what he was doing as he was “high” from sniffing glue at the time.

He committed the offence after his stepmother refused to hand him her house key.

He was charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term up to 20 years and a fine or whipping. The judge sentenced him to four years for the offence.
