Stolen guitar returned to charitable musician

Posted 25 Dec 2010 in Guitar Crime

Just two days ago we reported the theft of a Washburn electro-acoustic from a kind-hearted musician who was entertaining staff and customers at a thrift store in Kelowna, BC, Canada. Well in a turnaround to warm the cockles of anyone’s heart this Christmas, the guitar has been returned untouched.

From http://www.castanet.net/:

“Wednesday night, two people attended the Rutland Community Policing Office with the guitar saying they had discovered it leaning up against a building somewhere in Rutland and knew, from media reports, that it was the guitar that had been stolen. The guitar was still in it’s gig bag and had not a mark on it. Thank you for returning it to it’s owner. Strangely, this was the second time our musician’s guitar had been stolen. An identical one was stolen after a performance in Calgary five years ago. He had to replace it as it was never recovered. It goes without saying that he is grateful that this one came back. The spirit of Christmas is clearly alive and well in Kelowna.”
