Seasick Steve to release album on Jack White’s label

Seasick Steve is set to release his new album ‘You Can’t Teach An Old Dog New Tricks’ on May 30. The self-produced effort will be released in the UK on the Play It Again Sam label. In the US it will come out on Jack White’s Third Man Records. The album will be the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Man From Another Time’ and was produced by Steve with Henry James Wold. Source: NME

Sales of The White Stripes’ albums have rocketed as a result of this weeks’ announcement that they have split. On Amazon.co.uk, the band’s 2010 live album and documentary ‘Under Great White Northern Lights’ received a sales increase of over 2,600% following the announcement. It is currently #2 in Amazon.co.uk’s “Movers & Shakers” chart, which tracks high-rising releases.
