Buffalo Springfield are to tour for the first time since 1968. On April 15th, in Durham North Carolina, Neil Young is to start a tour which includes Boston’s Wang Center and shows at the Avery Fisher Hall in NYC’s Lincoln Center. His set is to feature material from his current album, “Le Noise” and classic tracks performed in both electric and acoustic settings. Lawsuit hints at Rolling Stones’ tour plans
Last November, Keef indicated that the Stones would tour in 2011 and now further confirmation is revealed in a legal dust up between promoter Live Nation, and their former chairman Michael Cohl. Live Nation are suing Cohl over a contract he signed with them during his departure from the company. Devo guitarist severs hand tendon. Tour postponed.
Devo have been forced to postpone their US tour after guitarist Bob Mothersbaugh suffered a hand injury. The band had been due to start the dates on October 30 in New York. “A glass shard sliced Mothersbaugh’s right thumb to the bone, severing a tendon,” the band explained in a statement. “He underwent immediate emergency surgery and is expected to make a full recovery after proper care and therapy.” Source: http://www.nme.com/
Pogues farewell tour is a “marketing ploy” according to guitarist
The Pogues have announced a “farewell tour” for the UK, much to the consternation of their guitarist. Phil Chevron has blasted notices for the goodbye tour, calling it “a marketing ploy” by others in the band. “This claim does not come from me,” he wrote on the group’s website, “and I will neither be supporting it nor discussing it.” The seven-date tour begins in Glasgow and ends on 21 December in Brixton, with reported Irish gigs earlier in the month….
