Bill Kreutzmann Has Been A Very Busy Drummer

Posted 07 Dec 2014 in News

Bill Kreutzmann from the Grateful Dead proves the old adage that age is just a number.  The former Dead drummer has had a very busy schedule as of late and it doesn’t look like he’s showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon.2015 is going to bring tons of stuff from Kreutzmann.  Aside from his autobiography being released he will be celebrating 50 years of the Grateful Dead.  Unbelievable…50 years.  That’s just awesome!  He also recently took some time to sit in and rock with Les Claypool and somehow found time to debut a new band called TryptoBand.  Without taking a breath he then hooked up with Steve Kimock’s Jerry Garcia tribute band.

But wait…there’s more.  There was also a gathering at Bob Weir’s TRI Studios that included Mickey Hart.  Maybe they discussed plans for the 50th Anniversary…We’ll have to wait and see.

Continuing on with his busy schedule Kreutzmann made his way to Mill Valley, CA to sit in at the Sweetwater Music Hall with Steve Kimock’s band.  Kimock put this group of talented musicians together so they could pay tribute to Jerry Garcia’s R&B and roots tunes.  Besides Kimock the other members of the group are Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Bill Vitt, Jeff Chimenti, John Morgan Kimock and Bobby Vega.

Just thinking about that schedule makes me tired and I’m half Kreutmann’s age.  Kudos to Bill and we hope he continues bringing us music for many more years.

Keep your eyes and ears open because there is no telling where and with who Kreutzmann might turn up with next.
