Black Sabbath Might Be Finished This Summer

While the news we’re about to share with you hasn’t been entirely confirmed yet, simply the specter of this announcement was so severe we thought we might pass it along.

Black Sabbath

According to guitarist Tommy Iommi, Black Sabbath’s upcoming gig on the 4th of July may be the last show the group plays together. The show will take place at the British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park in London. The show is already scheduled as the lost stop on Black Sabbath’s tour, and so far they haven’t announced any shows after this.

Furthermore, Iommi released a statement referencing the battle with cancer he’s struggled with since January of 2012. Iommi stated that the extensive touring Black Sabbath has embarked on in the last few years has been extremely hard on him, and that even if Sabbath does play again, he doesn’t believe it will be nearly as often.

Iommi has also stated that after the Hyde Park show, he’ll be seeking professional medical scans to try and get the best idea of the state of his health. We wish Iommi all the best, and hope that if you’re a Sabbath, you get a chance to see them at what might possibly be their last show ever.
