Loftily stashed in the upper reaches of guitar mythology, the 1967 Domino Californian Rebel is one of the most celebrated and rare guitars of all time. The axe was a centerpiece of the surf rock movement, and has defined some of the most iconic tones from that period.

In an effort to bring this magic to a larger group of players, guitar manufacturer Eastwood has recently announced the launching of their new Eastwood California Rebel, which mimics the original in a variety of ways, such as the impressive German carved and chambered mahogany body. The guitar also showcases the original style of whammy bar, which was a critical component to the original Californian Rebel’s unique tone. However, there have been some updates to the guitar’s hardware, such as the newly featured pair of EW RTG single coil pickups.

Currently, this guitar is available in two color schemes, Redburst and Vintage White. The guitar has an MSRP of $999, so you’ll probably be a pick up a new one for just over $700 if you know where to look (hint: look online). These unique guitar pays a very faithful tribute to a classic piece of rock and roll history, and we’d love to get our hands on one of these spectacular guitars.
