As part of a review of their niche and specialist titles, IPC Media announced the sale of “Guitar & Bass” to Anthem Publishing. IPC Media publish titles such as Marie Claire, NME, Loaded, and Country Life.

The deal sees Anthem acquire the brand – currently published within the IPC Inspire portfolio – with immediate effect. There will be no interruption to the publishing schedule of the title.

Anthem Publishing is one of the UK’s fastest-growing magazine publishers with a portfolio including Music Tech Magazine and Guitar Tech.

IPC Inspire managing director Paul Williams says: “Anthem is a publisher with some rightly renowned specialist music titles in its portfolio. It’s the ideal home for Guitar & Bass. My personal thanks go to the team on the magazine for continuing their superb work during the strategic review process and I wish them all the very best for the future.”

Anthem managing director Jon Bickley adds: “We’re delighted and proud to add Guitar & Bass to our music portfolio of magazines. It’s a wonderful title with a great heritage, and is the perfect complement to Music Tech, Guitar Tech and our other creative publications. We’re also pleased to be able to retain the whole editorial team and display sales executive in our newly opened Croydon office.”

Staff transfer to Anthem with immediate effect.
