As we progress through the year, more and more of the acts slated to perform at this year’s Download Festival in Donnington Park, England have been revealed to the public. You may even recall our post earlier this week, when we announced that Avenged Sevenfold would be the Friday night headliners at this enormous festival. Rob Zombie has also been announced as a major act. Well, we’re back at you with another big name to add to your lineups: Linkin Park.

Linkin Park

Now some music fans may scoff at the name of Linkin Park, who have received a heap of negative fan responses in the last couple years due to their close working relationship with J.J. Abrams and the fact that they have ‘sold out’. However, the group plans to circumvent these complaints by playing an incredibly unique set at Download Festival. Purportedly, Linkin Park will be playing their debut breakthrough album Hybrid Theory in full. The group is also working on a new album, which is set to be released sometime in 2014. According to singer Chester Bennington, the album will be quite a bit heavier than their previous efforts, which could be either a blessing or a curse for one of the most successful rock acts of our generation.
