While Linkin Park is still one of the largest rock bands in the world, there’s little doubt they have already passed their heyday. The group likely reached its peak following the release of their album Hybrid Theory, and indeed to this day that album is a fan favorite. You can imagine how exciting it must have been for these fans, then, when Linkin Park played Hybrid Theory in full during Download Festival.

Linkin Park

Linkin Park isn’t the only band reliving their glory days by playing an album in its entirety.  Soundgarden is on the road playing their smash record Superunknown in full.

This would actually be the first of two sets that Linkin Park played at Download Festival; the second of which used songs from throughout their career as well as incorporating a few new tracks. The band also threw a copy of their new album out to a lucky fan in the audience. This awesome performance is actually the fourth time that Linkin Park has headlined the festival, which takes place in the UK each year.

You can check out the videos of their Download Festival performance to hear the new tracks, or you can wait until the album is released later this week to hear it in full. All in all, this appears to be a transitional period for Linking Park, and we’re fascinated to see where they go from here.
