Outkast Finally Reunites

One of the most hotly anticipated pieces of music news for the entire year is that Atlanta based rap duo Outkast will be playing shows together for the first time in more than ten years. That announcement was made quite awhile ago, and we’re pleased to tell you readers that the reunion did, in fact, occur. Big Boi and Andre 3000 both showed up on stage at the Coachella music festival last week, and by all accounts, they seem to have absolutely killed it. Audiences went wild over tracks like “Ms. Jackson” and “Hey Ya”. The performance included a number of guest artists, including Janelle Monae, Future, and Sleepy Brown.

The performance was not without a few mishaps, though when you consider the fact that Outkast hasn’t played together in 10 years, that’s hardly surprising. Fortunately, the only snafu was a timing problem; Outkast did not move quickly enough through their performance, and as a result a section of their finale, “The Whole World”, had to be cut. However, festivals are typically pretty big sticklers for time constraints, and it’s hardly surprising that something like this happened. We’re just glad to duo got off to a great start before they embark on a festival filled summer tour.
