Oxegen Festival Cancelled

We’re finally here folks: festival season! With summer just around the corner, we’ve got a whole slew of festivals across the world getting their last touches together before fans start pouring in. Personally, us over here at GND couldn’t be happier about it, but the same cannot be said for the management behind the popular Oxegen Festival in Ireland.

Unfortunately, the festival has announced that it must be cancelled and will not take place this year. So far, there hasn’t been any official word on why, but we suspect that the festival is having trouble finding headliner, money, or both. What is for sure is that Oxegen certainly would have had a touch time following up on their headlining Snoop Dogg performance last year.

The festival actually pulled a similar move back in 2012, but fans were delighted to see the festival return in 2013. However, all signs seem to point that the festival will not be returning for a 2015 incarnation, which is really a shame. However, we hope that Oxegen can be revived in some form, even if it takes a few years.
