Perry Farrell, Joe Walsh and Oteil Burbridge Join Foo Fighters and Umphrey’s McGee
Both the East and West coast of the United States were treated to some very special guest appearances at concerts. One was at Bear Creek in Florida and the other at a Foo Fighters show in Los Angeles.
The Bear Creek Music and Arts Festival kicked off and the fans were treated to an awesome surprise on the first night. Headlining band Umphrey’s McGee took the stage for the first of their two performances. In the middle of the second UM set bassist Ryan Stasik left the stage and was replaced by Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge. Burbridge sat in for the song Bridgeless.
The Bear Creek festival also saw tons of other great guest appearances and you can bet there will be more throughout the weekend. We’ll keep you posted with updates on the rest of the weekend.
On the other coast Los Angeles rockers received a nice treat at the Foo Fighters concert at the world famous Roxy. Joe Walsh came out to the delight of the crowd and rocked Rocky Mountain Way. Not a bad addition to a Foo Fighters show. But that wasn’t the only famous guest who showed up. Later in the evening Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell joined the Foo’s for a run through of Mountain Song. What a sight that must have been!
The Foo Fighters must have been in a mood to cover some classics because they also played Breakdown by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Miss You by The Rolling Stones and Under Pressure by Queen/David Bowie.
