Police are looking for the man who hit his host on the head with a guitar while leaving a house party in Sioux Falls Friday night.

There was a small gathering at the home of the 26-year-old victim on the 900 block of South Phillips Avenue when the assault occurred, police spokesman Sam Clemens said.

Sometime before 3 a.m., the intoxicated suspect began to get belligerent, Clemens said, kicking and breaking the victim’s acoustic guitar.

He then grabbed his own guitar and left the house. He turned to hit the victim with it when the 26-year-old followed him out.

The victim was taken to Sanford Hospital and given multiple stitches, Clemens said.
