ESSEX, UK – BURGLARS broke into a Westcliff home while the owners were fast asleep.

They awoke to find a rare Gibson acoustic jazz guitar had been stolen along with electrical equipment worth about £4,500.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious at the house in Drake Road between 12.15am and 4am this morning.

Investigating officer, PC Ian Ling, said: “I’d ask anyone who was out and about in this area in the early hours of this morning to think back and let me know if you recall seeing anything unusual – in particular a large TV and guitar being carried along or loaded into a vehicle. Also, please get in touch if you see this rare guitar up for sale in unusual circumstances.”
