Velvet Revolver Singer Auditions to be Held

Auditioning for a spot in a band is always a nerve-racking experience, but can you imagine how much more so it would be for a legendary rock act that’s been pumping out hits for a number of years?

A select few will experience this level of stress at the unexpectedly announced singer auditions for Velvet Revolver sometime soon. When Slash made the announcement, it came as quite a surprise to many fans, as the prevailing belief at the time was that Velvet Revolver was finished.

However, don’t get too excited; as Slash was quick to note, he’ll be on the road for the next year and a half at least, so it might be awhile before the singer auditions actually take place. Still, it’s nice to hear that the ball is still rolling with this legendary supergroup, and we’re pretty interested to see which artist ultimately is selected as the group’s singer.

Personally, we think Mike Patton of Faith No More would be a good fit; his vocals are versatile enough to fit Velvet Revolver’s more demanding tunes, and ever since Faith No More went on hiatus, he hasn’t picked up a new project. Whoever it is, though, this definitely marks an interesting transition in the history of Velvet Revolver.
